MINGWEI YAN
ATTORNEY
Mingwei received her LL.M and J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law. She has been working for MSU immigration clinic and tax clinic. She has also been an extern of Honorable Rosemarie Aquilina. She received legal education both in China and the United States. As a practicing attorney in Michigan, she is focusing on general civil practice to serve her Chinese clients. She is also a contract attorney working for Miller Canfield. She is also a public notary.
FANFAN ZHENG
CONTRACT RESEARCH AND WRITING ATTORNEY
Fanfan was born in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China. Fanfan immigrated to the United States in 2001 and became a U.S. citizen in 2012. After graduating from University of Maryland, College Park, where he was a business scholar, Fanfan attended the Michigan State University College of law in 2013. Fanfan garnered vast experience in the legal field during law school, including externship with Michigan Circuit Court Judge Rosemarie E. Aquilina and clerkship with a firm specializing in employment law in Okemos, Michigan. After graduating from law school, Fanfan was hired as the judicial attorney to Michigan Circuit Court Judge Richard N. LaFlamme, where he remains part time today.
REBECCA CARCAGNO
CONTRACT IMMIGRATION ATTORNEY
Attorney Carcagno is originally from Michigan. She attended the University of Michigan for her undergraduate studies where she majored in Spanish. It was through her studies in the intensive language program within the University (Residential College) and the time that spent studying abroad in Spain and Peru that she became fluent in Spanish. ​While studying at the University of Illinois College of Law, Attorney Carcagno received the honor of serving as President of the Law School's Immigration Law Society after having previously served as the organization’s Fundraising and Outreach Chair.
XU CHEN
LEGAL ASSISTANT / PARALEGAL
Xu Chen is a certified US paralegal through an American-Bar-Association approved paralegal program. He recently achieved his law degree at the University of Edinburgh Law School. In the past two years, Xu had completed his legal internship at the City of Aurora Public Defender’s Office. He later took numerous pro bono civil cases as student legal adviser at the Free Legal Advice Center in association with the University of Edinburgh Law School. He is passionate about the law and fully dedicated to assist the attorneys of this firm and serve our community with his knowledge and skills.
